Fees

A RETAINER FEES

The firm, under suitable circumstances, accepts instructions from clients on an annual retainer basis, this means the firm and the client will have to agree on providing specific services required by the client for a fixed or flat agreed fee. However, this fee payment option is intended forspecific clients, such as small- scale business enterprises “not –for profit” or recognizable non-governmental organization.

B AGREED FEES

Legal fees for specific work i.e. preparation of legal instruments such as contracts, MOUs, mortgages, conveyances, deeds, or instruments, are determined by mutual agreement with the client in advance of commencement of the assignment.

C TIME CHARGE

This is an hourly billing system. any assignment is billed having regard to the time a Partner or Associate expends on the assignment (does not apply to litigation). The Firm Charges a standard fee of US$ 150 per hour. This excludes disbursements such as fees or charges paid to the government (or other authorities) in connection with the assignment, telephone or fax charges, etc.

D PERCENTAGE CHARGE

Tax and Debt collection assignments are billed on a percentage basis. For tax assignment the legal fee is 15% of the tax saves by our intervention and in case of debt collection, the Firm retains as legal fees 10% of the amount recovered on the debt claim (This does not apply to litigation). All assignments that involve litigation are billed in accordance with the remuneration rates stipulated under Advocates Remuneration Rules, which prescribes a descending scale of fees from 10% -3% depending on the monetary value of the claim in Court. The firm will usually require a reasonable deposit to be made by the client at the commencement of the assignment to enable the firm meet various disbursements as required in executing the assignment
